Éigse na Brideóige

Éigse na Brideóige is a cultural festival which takes place every year during the first weekend in February with different events held in centres throughout the Iveragh Gaeltacht. Each year a different theme celebrates and investigates some aspect of the rich social and cultural heritage of the area. The 2017 festival will be held from Friday 3rd February to Sunday 5th February and will focus on the Irish language and it’s future in the Iveragh Gaeltacht.

Tech Amergin, named after the mythological poet, seer and lawmaker of the Celtic Milesians, was established by KES (the VEC in Kerry) as a community Education Centre in 2001. Since its inception the centre has developed as a venue for the arts, providing courses in ceramics, painting, woodcarving, photography, dance etc. to the adult populations of the Iveragh area of Kerry.
