This walk follows a pathless route to a summit of 675m. It involves a ridge but is not overly demanding with gentle climbs to the summit.

The walk consists of an old mass path around Beentee mountain. The walk is fully stiled and marked. The walk offers views over the Fertha River, Beginish Island and Valentia Island. From the ridge there are breathtaking panoramic views for miles all round. This walk is approved by the Irish Sports Council and insured under the Kerry Way.

Geokaun is the highest mountain on Valentia Island at 888 feet. Fogher Cliffs form the edge between this mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.
