The Upper Caragh river flows through Glencar, situated approximately 12 miles from Killarney and 10 miles from Killorglin. It is a famous salmon fishery which produces an average of 300 salmon a year. It has 7 beats, all of which are private to the individual angler.A tackle shop is available where rods, reels, flies etc can be hired. The fisher also has 15 boats and motors for hire on two private lakes (Cloon and Acoose) and Caragh Lake.
